The Metcalfe Agricultural Society was honoured to have the opportunity to bring the world famous Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride Back to Metcalfe Fairgrounds on the evening of May 16, 2008. They arrived in late afternoon by bus and huge transport trucks that carried the horses - a dramatic change from their earliest visits about a century ago  when the troop used to ride the horses from Rockliffe to Metcalfe and back.

Sharing the program with the Mounties were the Ottawa Police Service Canine Unit (pages 3 and 4), and the stepdancing group "Just Do It" (pages 4 and 5). MC for the evening was Erin James.  One lucky young spectator won the door prize - a huge stuffed dog donated with the complements of
Robertson Amusements.

Our photographer was located in the Judges Stand for the show - the best seat in the house. Click any photo to enlarge it, use your browser's back button to return to the album.
