We appreciate this opportunity to welcome you to come and enjoy the 155th Metcalfe Fair. We're both experiencing our first year as Presidents of the Agricultural Division and Family Division and it is quite clear to us that the executive, directors, committee members, volunteers and office staff are members of a team that works very hard to put on an event that has something for all ages to enjoy.
We would also like to take this time to thank everyone who helps with our fundraising, those who work so hard at planning these events and also, even more important, those who support them. These events have made it possible to welcome you all to a new barn, which we hope we will also use as a new show ring. We are all very excited with the new construction which will change our exhibits so they will be more accessible for all. But please be assured that we will still have old favourites like the demolition derby, livestock shows, 4-H show, antiques display and great displays of vegetables and crops. The Family Pavilion has a great variety of homecrafts, culinary arts, flowers, and junior division displays. We can't forget to mention all the entertainment for all ages, from Kidzland to our live music at the Entertainment Centre.
Metcalfe Fair has dedicated staff drawn from our Board of Directors and Family Division Directors, and without their hard work, the fair would not be the success that it is. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors. Your donations make it possible to host not only entertaining events, but ones that are educational and bring our community together.
