| There will be 6 classes of machines, ranging from box stock grass cutting machine (blades removed) to open class putting out 40-50 hp. The more powerful machines are capable of reaching speeds of 110 kilometers per hour (65 MPH) on straight runs!! The event is presented at Metcalfe Fair by the Ontario East Lawn Tractor Racing Association. The Ontario East Lawn Tractor Racing Association (Oeltra) races all across southern Ontario from Ottawa to as far as Milton, Ontario near Toronto. The club has as many active members, as many as 60 per year at different events in Ontario. Non members can register for $10:00 per tractor/class. Tractors will be tech inspected to be placed in their respecting class. Full rules and schedule are posted at WWW.OELTRA.CA. The Metcalfe Fair event will be held at the south east corner of fair grounds behind the Leonard Moriarity Heavy Horse Barn on Sunday, October 3rd, 2010. Registration and safety forms are filled out on site the day of the event. The first green flag will drop at 12:30. |
