The Homecraft Division is a major component of the Metcalfe Fair and it has a great deal to do with the unique character of our fair. It is a model that most other fairs look to with great respect; our ladies take a very active role in supporting the activities of the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies, and they take great pride in promoting our Family Division both at home and away. Representatives of other fairs often visit Metcalfe Fair specifically to visit the Family Pavilion.
The Homecraft exhibits are located in the Family Pavilion, better known most of the year as the Curling Rink. You'll find quilts, paintings, photographs, posters, exhibit boards, 4-H Lifeskills, food, crafts, flowers, demonstrations, - you name it - it's probably here! Homecraft demonstrations are held here throughout the fair.
We begin our tour with "The Showcase of Champions" award ceremony (page 1), catch two of the demonstrations (Page 2) and then continue on to view the many Pavilion exhibits (pages 3 to 8). |
