| Visitors have asked about sending us some of their best digital photos of Metcalfe Fair to be included in our Gallery. We liked the idea, and can do it by using our email system. First, read the instructions below. Then click the "Submit" button on this page or in the Visitors Pics album to open your email program. Include the required information, attach your photos, and send it to us. We'd like to hold it to just a few pics per person for now. They must be photos that you took at this year's Metcalfe Fair. The preferred format is jpg although we can accept tif as well. The preferred size is 491 x 368 pixels. If your camera aspect ratio is not 4 to 3, then scale your largest dimension to 492 and keep the other proportional. Resize your photos only if you have the software to do so - don't drag with a mouse. If necessary, you can send us the original file (no larger than 8 meg for the total mailing) and we will scale it down for you. Include a note with your photo telling us about it - what event - who etc so that a caption can be placed with it. Don't forget to include your name so that we can credit you for it. Anonymous photos can not be accepted for copyright reasons. Please respect privacy laws. Basically, if a person is the prime subject in a photo and not taking part in a public event like a parade, show, demonstration etc, you should have their permission to publish the photo. If the person is a "found-in" in a group or scene, and not specifically the intended subject, then the photo is usually ok to publish. If a legitimate complaint is received from such a "found-in", we will try to alter the photo or remove it as required to resolve the problem. We will screen and select from submitted photos. We can not guarantee that your photo will appear in the album. Unused files will be deleted. If we do select and publish your photo, you will be credited for it and retain copyright to it with the sole exception that you freely give Metcalfefair.com the right to display it in the Visitors' Pics Album and to alter it if necessary to comply with privacy concerns, size and format requirements. If you have any questions or concerns, use the "Submit" button below to email us. |
