Youth Committee Golf Tournament
Organized as a Fund Raiser by the
Metcalfe Fair Youth Committee
The Metcalfe Fair Youth Committee is the organizer of the hugely successful Saturday Night "Battle of the Bands" Competition at Metcalfe Fair.  This year, they have made the "Battle of the Bands" an even bigger event by increasing the prize money at stake, and they have added a free Friday Night Concert by last years winner, Jacquie In The Kitchen.  Both events are held in the Kidzland Tent.

Major events like these cost money, and Metcalfe's Youth Committee are determined to pay their own way. In addition to the usual fundraisers like car washes, the Youth Committee decided to hold a golf tournament for youths. Parents could join if they wished so long as they followed the rules. First, there would be no alcohol allowed, and secondly, no golf carts would be allowed.  There were a couple of parent participants among the eight foursomes that teed off on Friday, July 22, 2005 to play Best Ball at Cloverdale Links, near Winchester Ontario.  The Tournament was a huge success, raising more than enough to pay all the Committee's expenses for 2005.

The winning team for 2005 was the Swing Kings at 6 under par. The players were Pat Brunet, Jordan Vizena; Pat Hailstone, and Andrew Best. Congratulations, guys, your photo is on page 5!

The Youth Committee wishes to thank all of the participants, Cloverdale Links Golf Course, their friendly staff, and all who donated prizes for the tournament.

The Metcalfe Fair Youth Committee is Jenny Begin, Andrew Bunda, William Bunda, Sandra Doig, Alex Harrison, Katelyn Lacharity, Melissa Lackey, Simon Lackey, Jessica Lapage, Andrew McCuaig, and Olivia Woods.
The co-chairs of the Youth Committee are Cheryl Bunda and John Lackey.
